FT Marquee Build Team Manager/ Foreman

Glasgow & Edinburgh

Our Company

CQM is an ambitious company which has invested heavily and has seen a huge demand for our services. Our core business is hire of event marquee structures & installation, consultation, acquisition and resale of semi-permanent structures & installation, event décor and provision of related power and lighting. Based in Glasgow, we’re an integral supplier to a host of events providing our services across Scotland, North England, Cumbria and The Lakes.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Marquee Site Manager/ Foreman with experience installing clear-span structures (up-to15m width and on 5m bays, often using cassette and raised floor systems). The candidate should be willing to use current knowledge and experience installing these structures, but also eager to develop other skills in relation to: business acumen, people management and being able to influence others as part of CQM’s commercial strategy. There should be a focus on ensuring that our commitment to H&S is adhered to at all times.

As part of a growing company, the right individual will have a direct link to management at board level. The candidate will be able to influence business decisions in relation to the way we install our structures more efficiently and carry out day to day operations safely.

This is a unique role within the industry whereby you’ll have a direct link to management who are committed to developing the right person.

We expect our staff to ensure H&S procedures are adhered to at all times and empower our staff to challenge any aspect of their day-to-day activities if they believe there is H&S risk. No matter how trivial the risk we encourage all colleagues to raise concerns and challenge the status quo if there is H&S concern.

Working with CQM

Flexibility to condense working week – CQM offers employees a rewarding and exiting career and is committed to all year-round opportunities. We work at pace during seasonal months but when we’re not at capacity breaking down and reinstalling structures, we offer FT staff the ability to condense their working week. Typically during the months of November, January and February our FT staff are permitted to carry-out contracted hours over three days.

Availability for overtime, additional holidays or time in lieu – During seasonal periods (April – Sept), we expect FT team members to participate in overtime hours. All overtime is chargeable and is recorded on an hourly basis. We provide our staff with the option to charge for overtime hours at an agreed hourly rate, take time in lieu or exchange for additional holidays.

Liaising with clients, management and other project managers often and effectively is essential. Good communication is essential at all times to ensure we deliver on any project but also ensure work is carried out safely.

We expect you to be fit and energetic, have a willingness to learn and enjoy working outdoors when sometimes when weather can be unpleasant.

The Person requirements and skills

Salary and benefits

In return, you will get to able to experience some amazing locations and events and an integral part of a thriving business. You’ll benefit from great rates of pay, a yearly bonus and operating expenses (if necessary). Salaries are extremely competitive ranging £30K – £36K for the above role (based on FT 40 hours per week). This is discussed on an individual basis, depending on your skill set and experience.

 


FT or PT Marquee Build Team Supervisor

The candidate should be eager to develop skills in relation to: business acumen, people management and being able to influence others as part of CQM’s commercial strategy. There should be a focus on ensuring that our commitment to H&S is adhered to at all times.

As part of a growing company, the right individual will be provided with a dynamic, and rewarding career, with the opportunities to progress through the business and take advantage of training and support available to advance. Regular communication with management will be provided as part of this.

Events Staff – Seasonal & Temp

Salary: Depending on experience

Responsibilities: To work as part of an experienced team in various roles; food service, bar staff, management and maintainence.

You will need to be: Presentable, hardworking, punctual, have an attention to detail – enjoy being part of a close team and flexible with working long days/weekends as required.

Positions would suit: Students or people with a flexible working schedule as we will require more/less workers depending on size/number of events in each particular week and keep a large team on rotation.

Desirable: Experience in customers service, food and drink service.
