Marquee Hire Damage Waiver | Insurance, Responsibility & Practical Considerations

Marquee hire damage waiver insurance provides you with indemnity against the cost of any accidental damage to the marquee structure and internal fixtures and fittings whilst on hire from CQM. Damage waiver therefore provides peace of mind should any of part of the marquee or internal fixtures on hire from CQM be accidentally damaged during the marquee hire period.

Marquee internals and fixtures could include internal linings, panoramic wall sections, glass doors, furniture and so on. These items have significant value which can often be tens of thousands to replace. It is therefore expected that our clients will arrange insurance for during the hire period if the damage waiver fee is not acceptable.

Any customer may insure the marquee structure and internal fixtures and fittings using their own policy. And we can provide details for brokers to provide standard wedding /event insurance policy.  Please bear in mind this will often require a breakdown of items on hire which can be time consuming to arrange and costly.

As a cost effective and convenient alternative to arranging your own insurance, we include a Damage Waiver Fee, amounting to 5% of the total equipment hire charge and in doing so we take full responsibility for the risk of accidental damage to the equipment during the hire period. This is done through our own insurance policy.

Our insurers impose the following conditions to the damage waiver, where the customer is responsible for:

  1. The first £250 of accidental damage to any equipment.
  2. All damage resulting from wilful neglect, abuse or legal liability.
  3. All damage due to a failure to comply with any security arrangements that have been agreed. 

Indemnity does not extend to theft and loss, and excludes generators, heaters and toilets, all of which you are responsible for the full repair or replacement cost.

Damage waiver does not provide indemnity against any costs incurred as a result of cancellation. Please refer to our terms and conditions for full details.

Marquee Hire Event Insurance

Costs associated with many events that we supply marquee structures for can be significant. These event liabilities can leave sunk costs which are irrecoverable should there be a requirement to cancel. Over the years we have experienced cancellations as a result of COVID restrictions, extreme weather conditions and failure of third parties to meet licensing requirements. Whilst these scenarios are infrequent, many event planners are unable to reschedule due to losses suffered from prior cancellations.

For larger events, festivals and weddings we recommend obtaining event insurance policy cover the costs of cancellation as a result of unforeseen circumstances. These event insurance policies therefore compensate our clients and other event planners for any liabilities incurred, affording our customers the ability to rearrange their wedding or festival event without additional cost.
